About Stairwarehouse

Stair Warehouse was founded 20 years ago by Shawn Capell and John Stevens—two industry professionals with growing families, a passion for craftsmanship, and years of experience supplying stair parts across the country.

Back then, homeowners and builders couldn’t find high-quality stair parts online, even as demand soared. After countless requests and encouragement from our customers (and a little push from our wives), we launched **www.stairwarehouse.com**—one of the first eCommerce stores dedicated to premium stair parts that could be shipped anywhere in the U.S.

Since opening our doors in 2004, our mission has been clear: deliver exceptional quality, unbeatable value, and service that goes above and beyond expectations. We carefully source only the finest handcrafted Newel Posts, Handrail, Iron Balusters, Stair Treads, and Contemporary Railings—pieces that elevate the look of any home. Seeing our customers proudly share photos of their stunning new stairways has been the most rewarding part of our journey.

Today, in 2025, Stair Warehouse continues to lead the industry with an experienced team, competitive pricing, and nationwide shipping. We’re proud to make it easy for homeowners, builders, and designers to find the perfect stair parts—all backed by the personal service and care that built our reputation from day one.

Hi.
Just wanted to tell you how happy we are with the horizontal modern stair rail we constructed with your products (used the gray powder coated rods). This was used in a condo renovation and is now a feature highlight of the space! Thanks so much for the telephone help and for the quick response....

Deb - Akron, OH

We just wanted to take a minute to thank your company! We are very happy with the product you sent us (order # 51628)!!! Your team was very professional and the material arrived at our door step in a very timely manner! Despite these trying times your company came thru in a timely and professional manner delivering a superior product and we look forward to doing business with you again!

Again, thank you!

Just a shout out to Stairwarehouse… I called them with a question on a broken stair baluster. John told me that matching the baluster wasn’t likely but he then spent quite a few minutes with me on the phone going through how I might repair the break. He also made a good suggestion on how I might perhaps find a match here locally. The time John took earned Stairwarehouse $0. But it did earn them both thumbs up for great customer service!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I never expected such good service! Rec'd my order in less than a week and am most pleased with the quality of the stair brackets! You all rock ! My brackets were # 7029 in Poplar. The wood is clear and smooth and ready to be installed and painted. Can't wait to see them installed. They will make all the difference in appearance. I'll send you a picture when I am finished with the project. Again, many thanks.

Hi Shannon:
I just wanted to thank you for taking care of getting the stair parts to me in a timely manner. I received all the parts in good order and the quality of the materials was great! This project is at my cabin up in Mt. Shasta, CA.

This is my first ever stair installation and I'm pretty proud of it. I still have to plug the holes for the recessed screws and apply another coat of tung oil which I will do in the next week or so. I had to rip the 2-3/4" oak handrail down to 2" to meet the local building code but it came out just fine. The guard-rails were left at factory width.

I have attached a few pics of my work. I hope that you enjoy them.

Anyhow, thanks again for the great service from Stairwarehouse!

Thom - Mt. Shasta, CA.
